To me, this book was fast-paced. One of the reasons that I read this book was that it was written by a Christian. If you are looking for a great fantasy and romance novel that is clean then this book is for you. After reading this novel, I am going to read the rest of the series.

This book is about evil versus good and two different people from two different worlds. Nsi is a human that has lost most of the family except a grandmother and cousin due to dragons. Beroan is a dragon who can change into a human. Their world collides when there is a dragon attack on Nsi village. Beroan is an outcast from his clan because he doesn't want to destroy humans as his Alpha leader does. She leaves her family to follow Beroan and to help save lives. Along the way, they fall in love. Can they save the world and stay alive? You will have to read the book to find out.

There is a parallel to this novel and to the book of Ruth in the Bible. Ruth leaves everything behind to follow Naomi because God wanted her too. Whereas in this book, Nsi follows Beroan and the other Shapeshifter clans to save humankind.

There is something to be learned from reading this book. I love that in the beginning, Nsi is afraid but as you read farther along, she starts to stop being afraid and gains confidence in herself. Another thing to be learned is that doing the right thing is not always easy as we can see when Beroan went against his clan to save humans. It was the right thing to do but hard.
